Kherson Airport

Faced with structural limitations and site constraints, this airport redesign focuses on expanding capacity and enhancing passenger experience. The design proposal increases usable area by 50%, enabling the terminal to serve up to 400 passengers per hour, with new facilities including four boarding bridges, baggage zones, an international terminal, and a cargo area. A flexible open-plan layout improves circulation and spatial efficiency, supported by a large canopy that ensures coverage and adaptability. The design integrates sustainable strategies—natural lighting, visual openness, and passive systems—creating a bright, intuitive environment for travelers.A multifunctional roof system accommodates service infrastructure without compromising aesthetics, while a steel frame structure accelerates construction and reduces overall cost. Through clarity of form and performance-driven design, the new terminal reinforces the airport’s identity as a modern, efficient, and welcoming gateway.
